I have a form of Cancer called a Neuroendocrine Tumor or NET. I have been undergoing various treatments for the past three years since it was diagnosed.

When found, it had already spread from my Pancreas onto my liver, so removal wasn't an option and controlling the spread/growths was the only path available. I came to terms with this quite early and after the initial Chemotherapy have tried to live a normal life.

Since then I have had a couple of periods on different control drugs, Chemo in a tablet form but now it is time to change treatment again. Having come off the tablets to let my body flush some of it out of my system, I ended up in hospital with a new problem. My gallbladder was inflamed and my liver swollen, so whilst I am out of hospital now I am rebuilding my strength and thankfully have been able to return to work.

At the moment I am waiting for a proposed date to start my new treatment plan. They are going to inject me with molecules of food the Cancer cells want to eat, but these cells are bonded with radioactive cells that should damage the cancer when they eat the cocktail.

Freaky science but it should slow things down if it works, there are four injections for every three months so it is a year of treatment and monitoring. This will tire me out, but it should give me a longer time before I need treating again.

At the end of the day there are those less fortunate than myself, I am blessed to have support of my parents and friends and faith in my Doctors to do the right thing. I try to keep positive about life and not do anything to upset or annoy those who come into contact with me.
